Our Kids Deserve Better Schools

As a father of three kids in public schools, I want what other parents want: for my kids to graduate with real life skills, to have transparent communication with the district, and—above all—for classrooms to be safe and supportive learning environments.

Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community, and a strong community is what creates a better future for our children. Unfortunately, our public school system has fallen far below its potential. We can do better.

Real Skills, Real Standards, Real Outcomes

No student’s path is the same, but every path starts with the fundamentals and every student deserves the chance—and the skills—to succeed. We must:

  • Uphold strong reading, writing, math, and science standards

  • Expand phonics programs so that all third graders have the tools to read

  • Focus on real achievement—not graduation quotas

  • Expand hands-on, real-world learning and life skills

  • Hold students and staff accountable and set clear expectations

  • Implement consistent discipline to restore safe classrooms

  • Communicate transparently with parents and proactively seek their feedback

“Whenever I call Jeremiah, he’s working or shuttling his kids to school or activities. Tell me that isn’t the kind of perspective we need on our school board right now.”
